So i have a rig which i both play/work/mine on with 2 gpus and planning to expand further down the line with more gpu. (Total of 700/800w expected)

I was thinking of getting some kind of protection in case of thunderstorms strikes when not at home.

Should i get a power surge protection (about 15€ or am i cheaping out?) or 1000w ups (250€).

Also with a ups would there be a loss of efficiency? Like, pulling more watts from the wall just by running the thing.
